In 2021 and 2022, there was a robust recovery, with growth rates of 6.3% and 5.0% respectively. These results reflect not only the positive impact of the economic recovery, but also the resilience of Dutch exports and the technology sector.
In 2023, growth slowed sharply to just 0.1%, likely influenced by the restrictive monetary policy pursued by the ECB, inflationary pressures and international uncertainty. In 2024, the economy began a moderate recovery, with growth of 1.0% and total GDP of US$1.23 trillion (€1.05 trillion)¹, while an increase of 1.4% is estimated for 2025. These figures indicate a transition from post-crisis recovery to a phase of adjustment and consolidation.
